Tracey C. Hinson, ESQ.
Tracey Hinson is a Partner in the firm of Hinson Snipes, LLP. An experienced civil trial lawyer, Tracey represents clients in complex litigation involving civil rights violations, excessive force, false arrest and imprisonment, malicious prosecution, premises liability, catastrophic injuries, medical malpractice, and nursing home neglect and abuse. She also represents clients in employment discrimination and “Title 59 claims” against the State of New Jersey, municipalities, and counties. Prior to joining the firm, Tracey worked as a senior associate for five years at the law firm of Szaferman Lakind Blumstein and Blader, P.C., Lawrenceville, New Jersey, where she represented primarily Plaintiffs in serious and catastrophic injuries, civil rights violations, medical malpractice and employment discrimination.
Tracey is a former Deputy Attorney General (DAG) for the State of New Jersey. As a DAG, she defended State agencies and employees in litigation filed against the State, including cases brought pursuant to Title 59. Those cases involved allegations of dangerous condition of public property, negligence, malicious prosecution, sexual abuse and assaults, abuse and neglect, and wrongful death and survivorship actions. Tracey also defended the State in cases alleging violations of the State and Federal Constitutions, 1983 civil rights violations and Federal Employees Liability Act (FELA). Her clients included the NJ State Police, NJ Department of Transportation, NJ Transit, State’s colleges and universities, UMDNJ (now Rutgers), New Jersey Department of Children and Families (formerly DYFS) and the NJ Department of Corrections.
Tracey has lectured on legal issues, including “Tort Claims Act – Title 59 Immunities, Liabilities and Defenses,” “Filing the Notice of Claim,” “Law Enforcement Immunities,” “Discovery and Ethical Issues,” and at the “Rutgers University Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy 2010 Complete Street Summits on Bicycle Safety-Plan and Design Immunity for Municipalities.”
Tracey graduated from Rutgers University-Newark in 1999 with a BA in Criminal Justice. She graduated from Rutgers University-School of Law in 2002. She is a member of the American Association of Justice (“AAJ”), the New Jersey Association of Justice (“NJAJ”) and the New Jersey State Bar Association. She was elected First Vice-Chair of the New Jersey State Bar Minorities in the Profession Section.
Following graduation from law school, Tracey clerked for the Honorable Dennis J. Braithwaite, NJ Superior Court Appellate Division, Atlantic City, where she worked on a variety of civil and criminal appeals. Tracey considers Judge Braithwaite a mentor. During law school, Tracey was a judicial intern for the Honorable Ronald Hedges, U. S. Magistrate, United States District Court, Newark.
Tracey is admitted to the New York and New Jersey, and the United States District Court of New Jersey Bars. She served for three years on the Supreme Court of New Jersey, District Fee Arbitration Committee for Middlesex County. She currently serves as a civil arbitrator for the Mercer County Superior Court and was recently appointed to a five-year term as an Investigator for the Office of Attorney Ethics-Mercer County District VII Committee.

Maurice Snipes is a Partner in the firm of Hinson Snipes, LLP. Maurice Snipes is an experienced criminal defense and civil litigation lawyer. Mr. Snipes personally handles all aspects of your case. No part of your representation will be entrusted to a legal secretary, paralegal or inexperience associate.
Mr. Snipes holds a Juris Doctor degree from Rutgers Law School, Newark, and a B.A. in Sociology/Criminal Justice from Bloomfield College. He is admitted to the New Jersey, and United States District Court, District of New Jersey Bars.
Mr. Snipes is currently a member of the New Jersey Bar Association, National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, Garden State Bar Association and Essex County Bar Association.
